D. Streltsov. Japan’s Policy in the Field of Military Security Pursued by the Abe Governments: New Approaches

The article is devoted to the new policy of Japan in the field of military security after returning to power of the Liberal Democratic Party in 2012. The author examines main conceptual documents of the Japan’s strategy in this sphere. The analysis shows that the course of Tokyo reflected the deviation from traditional understanding of pacifism as the denial of the right of State to war.

Yu. Morozov. Integration Projects for Eurasia: Approaches of China, Russia and the United States

China has put forward a number of integration concepts, largely compatible with the interests of Russia, but contrary to the US efforts to preserve a unipolar world order under US hegemony. The author aims to evaluate the “pros” and “cons” in integration projects of Russia and China in Eurasia, to identify obstacles to their implementation, to find ways to solve the problems.

Yu. Hatchenkov. The Approaches of the Chinese Leadership to the Fight against International Terrorism

The situation in the sphere of combating terrorism in China remains tense. The problem of combating religious extremism and separatism remains one of the main tasks of the Chinese leadership and Peking’s steps in this area are becoming more stringent, complex and high-tech natured.

K. Asmolov. Peking between Pyongyang and Seoul

The question of how Peking will preserve the continuity of its policy towards the Korean Peninsula does not lose its relevance. In the author’s opinion, the political course of the PRC in the Korean question as a whole will continue in its present form. In pursuit of its national interests China, like Russia, does not provide decisive support neither to North nor to South Korea. This does not negate the potential growth of tension in relations between China and North Korea, where Peking attempts to “shorten the leash”, and Pyongyang wants to ensure the freedom of maneuver.

O. Borokh. “The Political Economy of Xi Jinping” and the New Stage of Reforms in China

The article discusses the formation process and content of “the political economy of Xi Jinping”, the concept spread at the end of 2015. The Chinese interpretation of “Xi Jinping political economy” is analyzed, the most significant theoretical innovations were selected. Special attention is paid to the problem of transformation of foreign concepts and their adaptation to the system of “political economy of Chinese socialism”.

E. Pivovarova. The Social Problems in the Program of Normalization of the Economic Development in China during the 13th Five-Year Plan Period

The first decade of the XXI century was marked in China by active work on improvement of all quality parameters of socio-economic activities, including the straightening of existent distortions and imbalances. This work continued by the current fifth generation of Chinese leadership affected wide range of problems, including priority task of the creation country’s social security system.

V. Portyakov. Integration Processes in the Pearl River Delta and the Role of Shenzhen

Major features of the integration process in the south-eastern part of Guangdong Province (China) in recent years have been analyzed. The comparative size of the economy of Delta’s three groups of cities, named after Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhuhai, is described. Data on foreign trade volume of Delta’s nine cities are presented. It is shown that Shenzhen plays a leading role in region’s economic ties with Hong Kong.

Modern China is one of the biggest players in the international capital market, constantly improving the investment climate, simplifies procedures for creating joint enterprises, opens new sectors of the economy. Besides, the import and the export of capital by China are carried out in accordance with the strategy priorities of its economic development.

L. Zakharova. Inter-Korean Economic Relations after the “Sanctions of May 24, 2010”

The article analyzes the main forms of inter-Korean cooperation and their dynamics from 2010 to 2015. The exchanges between North and South Korea in the framework of the Kaesong industrial complex and Russia’s attempts to connect the South Korea to the railway project with participation of DPRK are considered.

M. Demina. The Influence of Political Interaction between Japan and PRC on their Bilateral Trade Dynamics

The article provides an overview of Asian experts’ research on the interrelation between political and economic aspects of Sino-Japanese relations in the second half of the 20th century. Attempts were made to identify with the use of econometric methods the relationship between the political events and trends in trade relations between Japan and PRC at the present stage.

R. Mansurov. Grain Production Complex of the Amur Region and Regional Food-Stuff Security

The article provides an assessment of the possible development of grain production complex to meet the challenges of enhancing food-stuff security in the region. The study used mathematical and comparative methods of analysis, economic-statistical methodology. Given the expected population growth in the region up to 2030, the main indicators of grain production complex, guaranteeing self-sufficiency in flour in Amur region, were calculated.

T. Lazareva. Tibet Autonomous Region: 50 Years since the Formation

The article describes the acceleration of social and economic processes in the Tibet Autonomous region of China. The development of this area encompasses all aspects of life — politics, economy, social sphere, culture, education, medicine, infrastructure building, transport systems etc. The instability factors in the development of national regions are considered.

A. Khisamutdinov. Writer, Journalist and Publisher Nikolai Matveev in Russia and Japan

The article focuses on Russian journalist and writer Nikolai Matveev (1865–1941), who was born in Hakodate and left his trace in Japanese studies. Based on foreign sources, an analysis of his publications about Japan and activities of the Russian emigration in this country was presented.
