The article describes some little-known events aimed at finding a settlement of the Sino-Soviet conflict in the difficult conditions of deteriorating relations between the USSR and the PRC. The work had been performed on the basis of the author’s personal archive.

Ya. Leksyutina. Economic Diplomacy of China in the XXI Century

The article analyzes one of the most important areas of foreign policy of China in the XXI century — its economic diplomacy, including measures of economic incentives and coercion. The efforts made by Beijing in order to create a strong economic dependence of the countries of the world from China have been described. The role of aid provision by China in achieving its foreign policy goals is disclosed.

M. Romanov. Vladivostok, Lianyungang and Eurasian Transcontinental Economic Axis

The article discusses the formation of the Eurasian high-speed transcontinental transport corridors between China, Russia and the European Union and subsequent formation of economic axis along it, as areas of advanced development. Under conditions of globalization, universal competition and strengthening of geopolitical tensions in the world they represent an actual mechanism for strategic unification of the Eurasian continental space in order to create conditions for sustainable economic development.

S. Sazonov, E. Kudryavtsev, Wu Zi. The Transport Component of the Project Pairing of the Eurasian Economic Union and Economic Zone of «Silk Road»

The article reveals the main advantages of overland transit through the territory of Russia, analyzes the internal and external factors hindering the integration of the Russian transport network into the system of international transit corridors. The possible ways of integration of Russia into the international transport system with the aim of increasing its share in international transportation between Asia Pacific region and Europe have been considered.

T. Gorchakova. Innovation Activities in China (According to Western and Chinese Expert Assessments for 2014)

The article considered the questions of innovation activities of China, as reflected in the Western and Chinese media for 2014, gave an assessment of the innovative development of the PRC in comparison with European countries and the USA. The bulk of publications, with some exceptions, speaks highly of the Chinese innovation and predicts great prospects for these activities.

The article represented to the study of the energy market of China. It covers the structure, pricing and recent trends on this market, especially inter-fuel competition between coal and gas. The structure of energy consumption by sectors and regions of China and production capacities of different types of energy have been considered.

The article deals with overexploitation of the Chinese rivers’ water resources. The ways to solve the problem and water management concepts to hold the situation under control are described.

A. Korolev. PRC’s Political Regime Responsiveness to the Population’s Basic Needs

The article attempts to explain the peculiarities of social policies in China in the early XXI century from the standpoint of systemic-functional analysis of its political system. It is maintained, that despite the limited nature of procedural mechanisms of democracy in China, the Chinese leadership displays a fairly high level of responsiveness to the population’s basic needs, aggravated during the period of economic reforms.

V. Datsyshen. The Great Patriotic War and the Soviet Sinology

In the beginning of the Great Patriotic war the majority of Soviet scientists went to the army or were evacuated from Leningrad and Moscow deep into the Soviet Union. During the war all Soviet Orientalists continued to be engaged in scientific and research work. Training of Russian sinologists during the war continued in Moscow, in the eastern region of the Soviet Union and in China. In 1944 the activities of educational and scientific institutions in Moscow and Leningrad were fully recovered. Soviet Sinology continued its successful development.

O. Dyakova. The History of Formation of the Corps of Written Sources about the State of Bohai

The article discusses the process of identifying by Chinese scholars of written sources, preserved in various documents of the Tang, Song and Ming dynasties, associated with the first Tungus-Manchu State of Bohai (698–926).

A.A. Krushinsky. The Problem of Ancient Chinese Logic: a Historical Breakthrough and Retrospective

In 2010–2014 a series of international conferences on the history of Chinese logic was held. The article revealed the critical nature of these representative scientific forums, considered the concept of «Chinese logic», traced difficult controversies of national historiography regarding its most important component — logic of the Yijing.

S. Gorbunova. Present and Future Religions of China in Recent Scientific Writing in English

The article analyzed the achievements of Western scholars in the field of contemporary religious situation in China. The impetus for research interest to it was given by the revival of the religions and gradual change in policy in relation to them under condition of reforms in China. Focus was put on scientific works done by foreign sinologists in English, dedicated to present and future religions of China and published in recent years.

E. Ikonnikova. Soviet Sakhalin in Russian Literature of the Late 1920s-1930s

The article tells about the works of Russian literature of the late 1920–1930s, devoted to Sakhalin. The books by Lev Alpatov, Boris Elinskiy, Peter Slyotov, Nikolay Dolotin, Victor Kantorovich, Sergey Mikhalkov and others had informed the readers about Far Eastern border of the country with Japan, about ethnography of the indigenous people of Sakhalin, about success of Soviet power in the island.

Research of dynamics, geography and subjects of scientific activity, conducted by the author is based on analysis of a series of theses, defended in Russia over the recent 20 years. The article also discussed the issues associated with student’s scientific activity.
