Summary

The 8th Conference of Political Scientists from Russia, India and China: Major Results

Basic results of the 8th meeting of the political scientists from Russia, India and China in November 2008 in Xiamen are presented. Article summarized participants’ approaches to the cooperation among three countries in struggle against global economic crisis, in agriculture and in resolving the Afghan problem.

Microelectronic Industry and Supercomputers Production in China

The rapid progress of information technology in China is based on the solid organizational efforts of the Government and on the mobilization of the abundant financial resources. Besides, Chinese market had absorbed the technology and intellectual resources from a large number of TNC. In general, the microelectronic industry in China still lags behind the world level, but there is a remarkable progress in supercomputers: in November 2008 Chinese supercomputer “Shuguan 5000A” was ranked among the first ten world supercomputers.
